SÜLZLE Stahlpartner supplies Bonatzbau
Fit for the next century
The Bonatzbau is the historic reception building of Stuttgart’s main railway station. The listed entrance building of Stuttgart’s main railway station, which is over 100 years old, is currently being thoroughly modernised. In the process, the exterior of the Bonatz Building, which is characteristic of the cityscape, will be preserved. Inside, the reception building is being redesigned to meet today’s requirements for a railway station. A house-in-house construction will make the building fit for the future.
For the extensive refurbishment, the SÜLZLE Stahlpartner branch in Dußlingen is delivering around 3,600 tonnes of reinforcing steel to Stuttgart by the end of 2024 on behalf of Ed. Züblin AG. The full commissioning of the modernised Bonatz Building is scheduled to coincide with the start of operation of the Stuttgart 21 project in 2025. The future ground-level entrance to the reception building will allow easy access to the tracks of the new platform hall, which is currently being built as part of Stuttgart 21.
