Glass fibre reinforced plastic reinforcement
If steel cannot be used as a reinforcement material in concrete construction, reinforcement materials made of glass fibre reinforced plastic offer an alternative. For areas in high risk of corrosion or when steel cannot be used for construction for structural reasons, we offer glass fibre reinforced plastic reinforcement, which is custom-manufactured based on the application.
Properties of the Glass fibre reinforced plastic reinforcement:
- permanently corrosion-resistant
- not magnetic or magnetisable
- not electrically or thermally conductive
- easily machinable or breakable
- considerably lighter than steel
Application examples:
- for high-energy systems (as non-conductive)
- Hospitals and laboratories (as they cannot be magnetised)
- Shore reinforcements and harbours (as they are corrosion-resistant)
- Drilling through bored piles and diaphragm walls (as easily machinable)
