Heavy plates

Grafische Darstellung eines Grobblechs

Hot-rolled steel sheets in unalloyed or low-alloy grades with a thickness of 3.0 mm or more, manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 10029.

A distinction is made between two types of sheet production:
Strip sheets are sheets cut from hot-rolled wide strip, usually up to 12 mm thick (with natural rolled edges).
Quarto plates are manufactured as single or combined plate sizes in quarto plate rolling mills. These sheets are usually produced from 10 mm up to 400 mm.
