Reinforcing steel
Around 120 tons of reinforcing steel were delivered.
Munich
In Munich’s Obersendling district, an innovative six-storey office building is currently being built in cooperation with Invesco Real Estate as an extension of the established OMEGA MUNICH office district. On a gross floor area of around 2,400 m2, customisable modern workplaces are being created. The WOODWORKS will be built in timber hybrid construction with a generous glass façade. With regard to the circularity of resources, WOODWORKS receives one of the first digital building resource passports in Germany according to the DGNB standard.
In the interests of sustainability (biodiversity), the building will receive both a large-scale façade greening and a coordinated roof and open space greening. Furthermore, temperature regulation with the help of a geothermal system creates a consistently pleasant indoor climate. From the two roof terraces you can overlook Munich – and in good weather conditions you can see as far as the Alps. Completion is scheduled for mid-2024.
The hybrid construction method allows the combination of sustainably harvested wood with two of the strongest materials: steel and concrete. For the sustainable new building, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner in Munich will supply its partner, LIST Bau München GmbH & Co. KG and BayWa AG, with around 120 tons of CO2-neutralized reinforcing steel in the period from August 2023 to April 2024. In the case of CO2-neutralized reinforcing steel, the remaining emissions are offset by offsetting – from the provision of raw materials to delivery to the construction site.
