New Construction Project in HafenCity
TIDE: Museum of the Future and World-Class Residential Architecture
Since April 2023, an innovative and sustainable building complex with multiple functions has been under construction in the Elbbrücken district of eastern HafenCity, Hamburg. The TIDE project follows the principles of sustainable construction, focusing on the use of eco-friendly, durable materials, resource-efficient building methods, and a sustainable energy management system.
Between February and November 2023, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner in Dessau-Roßlau supplied approximately 370 tons of bored pile reinforcement for this project on behalf of PORR Spezialtiefbau GmbH.
Located in a prime setting, TIDE will feature around 600 rental and owner-occupied apartments. The development also includes an internationally funded student residence with 260 modern rental apartments, a daycare center, and additional spaces for commercial and dining establishments.
One of the project’s highlights is the UBS Digital Art Museum, developed in collaboration with the Tokyo-based art collective teamLab. Situated in the building’s basement, the museum will cover approximately 6,500 m², with ceiling heights of up to ten meters. It is set to become Europe’s largest museum for digital art and a new tourist attraction in HafenCity.
