SÜLZLE Stahlpartner Dußlingen supports “Tübinger Projekt”
Donation on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the SÜLZLE Group
On the premises of SÜLZLE Stahlpartner in Dußlingen, branch manager Uwe Köber (left in the picture) and his colleague Corinna Guttenberger (centre) handed over a cheque worth 1,400 euros to the medical director of the “Tübingen Project”, Dr Christina Paul (right in the picture), who is also a senior physician at the Paul Lechler Hospital tropical clinic.
The Tübingen project has been providing specialised outpatient palliative care for almost 30 years. This enables seriously ill people to spend the last phase of their lives receiving comprehensive care at home in their familiar surroundings. The specialised outpatient palliative care service (SAPV) provides care for people in Tübingen and the district as well as in the municipalities of Pliezhausen, Walddorfhäslach and Wannweil. Last year, there were 434 patients.
When a cure is no longer possible and the disease progresses, patients and relatives are faced with many questions that need to be answered to ensure good care at home. With its team of experienced palliative physicians and palliative care nurses, the Tübingen project guarantees qualified and comprehensive care for seriously ill people. Alleviating symptoms caused by illness, maintaining or improving quality of life and taking into account the individual needs of the patient and their relatives are the central concerns of palliative care. With a round-the-clock on-call service that provides security, a competent contact person can be reached at any time.
Bridge care supports patients during the transition from hospital to their home environment so that they can be optimally cared for at home after discharge. This integrated service is provided by our cooperation partner, the Comprehensive Cancer Centre Tübingen-Stuttgart.
There is close cooperation with doctors in private practice, nursing services, hospice services, nursing homes, clinics and the inpatient hospice in Eningen to ensure the best possible coordinated care for patients.
In order to be able to provide this comprehensive palliative care at home, financial resources are required that go beyond the statutory remuneration of the health insurance companies.
